Freshman Liam Bell is currently listening to “Drinking Song for the Socially Anxious” by The Amazing Devil.
“It’s got a nice guitar in their melody,” Bell said. “[It’s] really well put together, it has a folk vibe, and the vocals are really impressive.”
“Drinking Song for the Socially Anxious” is about two people who meet at a party where they do not know anyone. They both consider going home because of their respective social anxiety, but they end up meeting and bonding over their interests and share a ride home.
The main instrument is an acoustic guitar and has a couple acapella parts. Those who like songs that tell a story should listen to “Drinking Song for the Socially Anxious,” especially if you like alternative or indie music.
“Drinking Song for the Socially Anxious” was released on the album “Ruin” in 2021.
“I do like other songs from this artist,” Bell said. “They have three albums, and I mainly like their more folky, slower songs.”
“Drinking Song for the Socially Anxious” is also one of their top ten songs on Spotify, having almost 5 million views, though it has no music video. “Inkpot God,” their top song from “Ruin,” has almost 9 million views with their top three songs being from their “The Horror and the Wild” album.
